About the MCMA

The Macon Christian Ministerial Association (MCMA) is an interdenominational organization of like minded Churches committed to follow Jesus.

Our desire is to build relationship between pastors and church leaders so as to have maximum impact in reaching the community of Macon County for Christ.  MCMA membership is comprised of local pastors, church leaders and non-profit charitable organizations.

 
     We meet monthly for encouragement, networking opportunities, lunch and a relevant message.  Annually, MCMA organizes a couple of community events, The National Day of Prayer in the Spring and the HOPE project in the Fall. If you are a pastor, church leader or ministry provider and would like to be a part of the MCMA please contact

MCMA Mission Statement

Membership - How do I join the MCMA?

Objectives/Purposes

• To increase fellowship among Christian ministers/pastors of the county and thereby contribute to the spirit of cooperation among the churches of the county.

• To minister to needs in Macon County -

        Transient Ministry
        Hospital Chaplaincy
        Sheriff's Chaplaincy, and,
        Other special ministries as needed (i.e. Nat'l Day of Prayer, Baccalaureate, Community Unity Celebration, Youth Event, etc.)
        Updated Community Churches List

• To Participate with and encourage the Body of Christ at large to complete the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in our generation in our county.

Guiding Scripture

"I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are one; I in them and You in Me.  May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.!"  John 17:22-23

Motto

"Worshipping, Working & Witnessing in Unity for All in Christ" - Worshipping, working & witnessing together toward complete unity of all Christian believers in Macon County with the purpose that all citizens of our county may come to know and believe that God sent Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord and has loved them even as He loved Jesus.

Membership

        •  Membership is open to any approved minister/pastor serving a church in Macon County and or is retired and residing in Macon County.

        •  Membership shall be attained by:

            1.  Being recommended by a member in good standing.

            2. Being interviewed by the Board; and,

            3.  Receiving a majority vote of those present.

•  Others of ministerial status who are not clergy and who are recommended for membership by a local congregation within Macon County and by a member in good standing will be considered on an individual basis.  Following their nomination, such individuals will be considered on a case by case basis by the Board, who will bring a recommendation back to the full membership at the next meeting of the Association.  A majority vote of those present is necessary for approval for membership.  Recommendation from the local congregation must take the form of a written letter from either the senior pastor of the local congregation or from the main legislative body of the local congregation.

•  Member in good standing shall be maintained by and extended to those who pay their annual dues of $15 on a calendar year basis.
